The most efficient and cutting-edge compression technology, H.264 , considerably improves compression efficiency without sacrificing video quality. It allows you to maximize storage space and enjoy ultra-long recording up to 7x longer than H.264 on normal conditions and provides higher quality network video and smoother viewing.
Some of your cameras may be installed far away from the NVR so the signal is relatively weak. You can set one of the WiFi cameras which is close to the NVR as a repeater to ensure the transmission stability between far-away or weak signal cameras and the NVR.
Customer reviewsExcellent resolution, even at night, but only 15 fps
The cameras have excellent resolution both in daylight and at night, much better than my previous system. The wi-fi between the cameras and the DVR has also worked very well. My house is hurricane proof, so the reinforced walls tend to absorb wi-fi signal, so I bought 10 ft antenna extension cables that allow the camera to be outside the house, under the roof eaves, but the antennas are inside the attic. That gives a much stronger wi-fi signal than if the antenna was attached directly to the camera, and it also makes the cameras less visually obtrusive on the side of the house. The DVR came without a hard drive, but I already had a 3 TB WD Purple drive from my previous setup, and when I first booted up the system, it said the hard drive needed to be formatted, and it did so without any trouble. You can also buy a system with the HD installed, but it is likely to only be 1 TB, and I prefer the larger capacity. The firmware of the DVR is the same as other surveillance systems and not to hard to figure out. I only have two negatives about this system. The cameras have mounting hardware with little hex screws that s tricky to adjust to get the camera angle just right. You re on a ladder, and if one of the tiny hex screws falls out, it s gone. You ll never find it. Other surveillance systems have cameras with a ball and socket type joint that s much easier to adjust, and there s no hex screws to lose. Word to the wise--just loosen the screws barely enough to adjust the angle. The other quibble I have about this system is that the cameras have incredible resolution for still or slowly moving objects like a person walking, but when a car goes by, that 15 frames per second is very noticeable, and the car seems blurry. My previous system used 30 fps, and that seemed to do a lot better with moving cars. I think that might be a limitation of the wi-fi connection between the cameras and the DVR. However, for surveillance purposes it s not a problem, because if you go back and freeze frame the moving car, it appears crystal clear. Each individual frame is high resolution, but the human eye perceives 15 fps as blurry. So overall, this is an excellent surveillance system for the money, and I recommend it.
