Customer reviewsEasy To Mechanically Install, Interfaces with Blue Iris
I own 15 cameras from various manufacturers. Amcrest by far is the most reliable. Installing this camera physically was easy. Interfacing it with your home router, etc. does require some knowledge of networks if you want to interface the camera with software apps other than Amcrest. The camera does interface with Blue Iris. To accomplish this, you must assign a static IP address to the camera using the Amcrest supplied Camera Configuration Tool. Once a static IP address has been defined for the camera, Blue Iris can be configured. The WIFI interface is much more resilient to locking up the camera so much so, that I now trust the WIFI interface on an equal footing to hooking up the camera with an ethernet cable. The real test for this camera remains will it die in 3 years, like some of my other IP cameras Only time will tell.
