Customer reviewsPerfect for 24-Hour Surveillance
One of the easiest installations if you are looking for simple 24-hour surveillance. Using POE eliminates the need for having power at the point of your camera placement. It s built in - just run the included cables to the camera destinations , plug them in and bring up the system. Do this FIRST at your most comfortable place around your home or garage. When you have the 8 cameras working there, you are ready to install them in the field. Mounting is the most difficult part. We chose to have our electrician climb up the ladders and run the cables - well worth a few dollars. Once the cables are run to the location of the NVR, just plug everything back in. The cameras are easily adjusted for proper aiming, etc. So impressed with this system that I purchased an 8TB Purple HD to replace the 3TB one that came with it. The upgrade was VERY simple. For the monitor, I purchased a 24-inch Westinghouse TV with HDMI input for 70.00 at our local big box discounter. I have no need for anything but 24 7 surveillance - no motion detection, no bells and whistles - the cameras are aimed where I need them and are FANTASTIC video quality. Night vision is extraordinary for the money. Easily picking up trespassers, deer, etc well over 250 feet away. I added an APC tower battery backup for obvious reasons and it runs all eight cameras and the NVR for about 45 minutes. FYI, 3 cameras are sitting 325 feet away from the NVR, I used CAT6 all around instead of the included CAT5e. I have yet to setup a computer with the system so there is no software to make reviewing the camera data easier - but I ve been able to pinpoint and find the few instances where we knew there was an intrusion. Am in the processing of buying a good, cheap laptop to connect. I have had a couple of nvr-neophyte type questions before and after the purchase and the Onwrote support responded within minutes of each of my inquiries. If you are looking for a good, simple but inexpensive system, I don t see how you could go wrong with this one. Realize that in the 5MP POE system I purchased the cameras are NOT PTZ, etc but stationary - easily adjusted to the area of coverage but not remotely. Excellent product that truly exceeded my expectations and still does three months after installation. BTW, the cameras have withstood winds and rains from Michael - not a single hiccup.
