SmartCode is easy to install, program and use and operates on 4 AA batteries. It also features SmartKey re-key technology as the back-up keyway. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. Because there are conflicting data in these reviews, I just want to make it clear that this lock works well with the Echo Plus and doesn t need any other hardware. Zigbee is built in to the Echo Plus whereas Z-Wave is not so this is the lock you need if you don t want to buy a Z-Wave repeater hub.
