Customer reviewsBest money I've spent since I divorced my no-good husband
I paid just shy of 2k for the set of three. I arranged delivery via Amazon, and then once my order was sent to a local delivery company, I tried contacting them to set up and pay extra for in room delivery as another reviewer had mentioned. They were not able to deliver up to the fifth floor of my condo with a two man crew. The bookcases come in three boxes and each weighs around 175 pounds. The fourth box, the ladder, can be carried by a strong person. I hired a local crew of three nice young men to go up the five staircases. In the pictures, you can see the cases take up an entire wall and go nearly to the 9' ceiling. I fastened them to the wall and then to each other those components are included with the cases and arranged my items easily. Everything is solid wood except the honey colored wood backing, which is flimsy. For the price, free shipping, and sturdiness, they can't be beat, however. The wall they're against is 144" and the movers centered them nicely. I recommend hiring a three-man crew to move these if you're not on the first floor. They can also be hard to align perfectly, so prepare to get a few small shims. I removed the baseboards too, so they could sit flush against my wall. Overall, I'm very pleased with them. A big box membership store sold them for 400 more but included the white glove delivery . I still saved money buying on Amazon, as the movers charged 125 and it took them about an hour to go up 5 floors. The mess of boxes and Styrofoam and plastic enough to fill half a dumpster cannot be stated enough. If you can hire someone to remove the mess, you'll be happy you did. My condo was not happy I used so much space I received a note about it as I was picking up the grand kids . If you have the space and many books, I highly recommend them I hope the pictures are helpful. xoxoxxoo
