Customer reviewsEast setup - relatively quiet
I just finished installing it in our guest bedroom. This was the first time I had installed a fan, but I have experience with electrical work in the past, so this wasn t too difficult. Instructions were well-written minus a couple spelling errors punctuation , but overall easy to understand. Our room had a fan box roughed in - this MA fan replaced a simple flush mount light. The fan switch has its own receptacle - it s separate from the light switch, so I had some second-guessing of myself... trying to figure out how the wires were split in the wall. The instructions did not make mention of any red wires - only ground, white black. I had red wires in both fan light receptacles in wall, so I wasn t sure if it was a common, or something else. Not Minka-Aires fault, but still confusing for me. For our set up, the red from ceiling was hot light, and the black from ceiling was hot fan. Minka-Aire was nice and included a tag on their blue wire specifying that it was their light wire... just to keep things clear. We already had a dimmer on our old flush mount works great with this light kit see video . Video starts with fan off, then goes up to 1st, 2nd, finishes on 3rd/highest show difference in sound . No remote. Reversible switch is great.
