The product functions fine as a DVR, but I only had it running for a few days. The S W is difficult, and riddled with errors. The 1st hurdle of the S W was getting an e-mail that would work. I finally stumbled on the fact that a Gmail account works and was able to register. After logging in the S W disappeared from my screen, and was only on the task bar. I m an advanced PC user, and nothing I could do would bring it to the screen. There are other S W packages available at their website, which installed and ran, but none of them would give me a live camera. I was able to get the S W running on an older Windows 7 laptop, but it also would not display the cameras. One aspect of the S W is establishing separate IP address for each camera. The S W states to consult the manual, but there is nothing in the manual about this. I contacted the help desk, but they are only available via Facebook and e-mail. I tried both, and got a response on e-mail 20 hours later. The response was basically apologizing for everything, but offering no real information. They wanted screen shots of what was being displayed, which I sent off. 20 hours later I got another response asking for the model number, which was already in the subject line, and again a string of apologies. Completely worthless support. After 3 days of fussing with this, I boxed it up, and sent it back to Amazon.
